ECU Tuning FAQ: Horsepower, Warranty, and Emissions

We’ve tuned tractors, combines, sprayers, cotton harvesters, wheel loaders, dozers, excavators, forestry equipment, semi trucks, and more. We’re happy to discuss custom pieces of equipment you’d like to have tuned.

The additional horsepower added can result in a tremendous ROI. Trading in a piece of equipment at a dealership to upgrade 50HP can cost $150,000+. Our tuning services cost a fraction of that. Adding 50HP through ECU tuning can save hours on equipment, labor, and fuel, while also saving thousands of dollars.

We do not delete emissions, nor do we recommend it. It is illegal to tamper or alter the emissions systems in the USA. Dealerships will also not work on a deleted machine.

We cannot guarantee that you will not lose your warranty if you tune equipment that is still covered. We have not lost a warranty on any equipment we have tuned to date. If you are worried, waiting until the warranty is up is best. A handheld programmer can return the machine to stock.

Each machine has its own specs. We need year, make, model, motor, front axle, transmission, and rear axle diameter to know how much power we can add. The rule of thumb is about 20% over stock. Some machines cannot safely handle 20%, while others can handle more.

Primarily agricultural equipment — tractors, combines, and sprayers — plus forestry equipment and semi trucks. Construction and industrial work is quoted case by case. Skid steers stay under construction. Fleet files stay under semi truck tuning.

Customers need to understand the risks of adding horsepower. We aim for the most power a machine can handle under strenuous conditions without passing its specs. Timely maintenance is key to longer-lasting wear components, stock or tuned.
